Bodegas Bilbainas Winery
With over a hundred years behind it, Bodegas Bilbaínas has remained faithful to the philosophy that its founder Santiago de Ugarte dreamed of one day in 1901.
Bodegas Bilbaínas is the oldest bottling company in La Rioja, the winery with the largest area of underground caves in the territory (3,400 m2), and with the largest area of vineyards in the municipality of Haro, the emblematic capital of Rioja Alta. Altogether, there are 250 hectares of vineyards of a privileged quality that feed the winery's own grapes, ensuring rapid processing without loss of quality. Established in the Haro station district, its strategic location enabled it to take advantage of the train from the outset as a means of transport to get its wines to any corner of the planet. Many harvests have taken place since then and during this time, with its flagship brand, Viña Pomal, the Rioja winery has maintained the personal style that has brought so much success and recognition to this appellation internationally.
Since Bodegas Bilbaínas joined the Codorníu Raventós group in 1997, the bodega has launched a new line of wines characterised by their modernity and high expression. Today, Bilbaínas has some of Rioja's most prestigious and emblematic wines, including Viña Pomal, Viña Zaco, Ederra, Royal Carlton and La Vicalanda.
